It's a happy day for comedian Marc Maron! Well, at least, as happy as he'll allow himself to be, that is. Word has it that his IFC series Maron has been picked up for a third season!

The announcement comes via a press release released by the network. IFC's President, Jennifer Caserta, jokes, "Usually Marc has a hard time maintaining long-term relationships, but luckily not with us. He's committed to bringing his wry humor and refreshing perspective back to IFC for a third season."

Despite his somewhat rocky past with relationships, the WTF with Marc Maron podcast host has indeed kept up his part of the IFC deal rather well. Based partially on Maron's life and his popular podcast, Maron has been able to garner high praise from the wide media spectrum ... on top of earning himself a whole new group of fans.

The comedian not only acts in the show as it's lead character, but he is also the executive producer, creator and, of course, one of the writers. He also directed an episode during the show's second season.

On the series, Maron states, "I'm very proud of both seasons of the show and thrilled we're doing another one. Through all the episodes I can see the growth and evolution of the character, writing and comedy."

He adds, "I'm excited about getting back into the process. The character of Maron needs some work on and off screen and fortunately that's what drives the show."

Season three of Maron is scheduled to premiere sometime in the Spring of 2015.
