While NFL stars cannot seem to stay out of the headlines, NBA stars are all hoping to keep their names far from the press. However, four of the biggest pro basketball players are all being discussed for the good, the bad and the ugly. Dwight Howard, Paul George, Dwyane Wade (and Gabrielle Union) and Blake Grffin are hoping to make headlines for their brilliant basketball skills once the 2014/15 season starts next month.

Blake Griffin appeared at the Sunset Strip comedy club, where he performed some well-received "Slam Dunk Poetry" even if it's unlikely that the Los Angeles Clippers player will ever trade his ball for the microphone.

Paul George is also in the headlines today because the police found the man that broke into his house in April. The crook stole $15k worth of stuff, and he was arrested through evidence they recovered at the scene of the crime.

Dwight Howard has been in the press for all of the wrong reasons, with reports suggesting he flew past red lights in April without paying the fine, but he quickly blamed his brother. Dwight claims that he was playing an NBA game that night, proving he couldn't have been behind the wheel.

Perhaps the most bizarre news is Dwyane Wade has left Gabrielle Union's side after their honeymoon long enough to buy a $20k Hublot. The piece was designed with Miami Heat colors, and it has 18 karat gold parts with an alligator strap.

All four superstars will be hoping to return to the headlines next month, but for purely basketball reasons.
