Marvel Comics presents its newest Guidance Counselor for the Jean Grey School for Higher Learning. Writer Elliot Kalan and artist Marco Failla are bringing in the amazing wall-crawler, Peter Parker, to meet Wolverine's star pupils in Spider-Man & The X-Men #1

As we mentioned here, Logan is about his demise in the Death Of Wolverine miniseries. In the aftermath of Charles Xavier's death, the adamantium-clawed mutant realized Cyclops couldn't be trusted with the young pupils. The anti-hero reluctantly became the teacher and set up a new school named after his former lover.

Peter Parker, who was never born a mutant, joins as the latest faculty member. As part of Wolvie's last request, Spidey arrives to help the young mutants find the right path. But that isn't the only reason, the web-spinner is there.

Kalan, the head writer of The Daily Show With Jon Stewart, explains, "He's there because Wolverine asked him to do it, though being a teacher isn't the extent of the mission. Before Wolverine dies, he had a suspicion that something was amiss at the school and that one of the students wasn't what they seemed."

The Emmy winning scribe continues, "Only he didn't know which student. It's Spidey's job to find the truth - though he can't help but hope to also have a positive influence on the lives of the students."

The first day on the new job, Spidey unexpectedly leads his students into a confrontation with Sauron and Stegron, the Dinosaur Man. Time will tell if the kids end up rebelling against their teacher?

We also mentioned here, Miles Morales makes a guest appearance in All-New X-Men #32

Spider-Man & The X-Men #1 arrives in stores in December. Readers, are you excited to see Spidey leading the X-Men?
