The Voice is coming to Broadway. Last years winner of the NBC singing competition series Josh Kaufman is about to star on "The Great White Way," as the lead in the musical production of Pippin. Kaufman who hails from team Usher will be making his first appearance in the revival of the show starting on November 4.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Josh will be taking over the role from Kyle Dean Massey whose final performance in the Roger O. Hirson and Stephen Schwartz production with take place on November 2. He will join Carly Hughes, who stars as the lead in the circus act and acrobatic show.

This has been the first time that a winner of the reality series has not decided to release an album shortly after taking home the title. Instead, Kaufman will be the first winner to trade in his pop tunes for some show tunes.

However, Josh's style on the show fits perfectly in with the songs of Pippin as the style of the songs is 70's styled pop-rock tracks. Kaufman performed hit songs like Stevie Wonders "Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours," on the show, as well as some more modern songs like Adele's "Set Fire to the Rain," so it doesn't seem like he will have a problem taking on some Broadway hits.

Other singing competition American Idol has spawned many broadways stars after they competed on the series. Fantasia Barrino started in The Color Purple, while other artists Constantine Maroulis and Justin Guarini are currently starring in productions of Rock of Ages and Wicked, respectively.

Congrats and break a leg, Josh.
