With Marvel's Daredevil already in production, viewers are anxiously awaiting for the cast of the Netflix superhero series to take the stage at New York Comic Con. Before we see Charlie Cox don the red costume as the titled Marvel Comics superhero, let's find out will cause the blind lawyer, Matt Murdock, to be pushed over the edge.

As reported here, we were very excited with the news of the Boardwalk Empire actor's official acting announcement. Though audiences have already seen the Hell's Kitchen vigilante before on the big screen, portrayed by Ben Affleck, we are certain the Stardust actor will bring in his own fresh and original take.

Daredevil showrunner Steven DeKnight previously teased just how "scary" Vincent D'Onofrio is as The Kingpin. The former Angel director spoke to Paste Magazine, providing some clues as to what viewers can expect from their protagonist.

DeKnight explains the complexity of being a superhero: "With this version of Daredevil, we wanted it to be grounded, gritty, as realistic as we could portray," he says. "That naturally fits in with the Daredevil character. Matt Murdock, on a regular basis, would get the sh*t beat out of him. That's one thing that makes him a great character."

As reported here, Scott Glenn joins the cast as Stick, Matt's mentor. The skilled martial artist will teach the blind protégée how to fight, but the training itself is a tough endurance. Currently in the comics, Matt juggles between being a crime-fighter and a best friend to Froggy, who is battling cancer.

DeKnight continues, "In every aspect, he's a man that's just pushed himself to the limits, he just has senses that are better than a normal humans. He is human. The other thing that really drew me to this character is that he's one of the most morally grey of the heroes."

How far will Kingpin (D'Onofrio) push Daredevil (Cox)'s buttons before he snaps? The answer might just be at NYCC.

Marvel's Daredevil will premiere on Netflix in May 2015. Readers, are you excited to see the Charlie Cox in costume?
