Ryan Murphy creator of American Horror Story might have just dreamed up the creepiest villain of all time for the newest installment of the FX series. American Horror Story: Freak Show is about to kick off in a few weeks and Murphy is giving away some new spoilers about his latest creation known as Twisty the Clown.

The mastermind behind Rubber Man, Bloody Face, and the Minotaur has just unveiled the first images of Twisty the killer clown in a new preview for the fourth season of the series.

Ryan explains that Twisty, who will be played by John Carroll Lynch, might just be the most terrifying clown of all time and is about to put Pennywise from the Stephen King movie It to shame.

"We said in the writer's room that if we were going to do clowns, we were going to create the most terrifying clown of all time," Murphy explained to BuzzFeed. "That was our goal when we were writing him, but I'm worried that people are going to have cardiac arrests."

Twisty will make his debut appearance in the season opener, and Ryan teases that it is going to be terrifying.

"The clown's intro in the first episode is... even I was terrified of it. It's brutal. Two crew members told me they have had nightmares about this clown since we started shooting and they're not even scared of clowns."

One of those crew members being Emma Roberts, who stated earlier that when she read the first script of the season was giving her some night terrors.

The fourth season of the FX series will kick off on October 8 at 10 pm.
