On September 22, 2004, no one knew what to expect of ABC's remarkable sci-fi/drama, Lost. After reaching an impressive milestone, hitting the ten year mark, this is the prefect opportunity to look back on the mystery left behind by John Locke (Terry O'Quinn) Jack Shepard (Matthew Fox), Kate Austen (Evangeline Lily) and Sayid Jarrah (Naveen Andrews), and Desmond Hume (Henry Ian Cusick).

Due to mysterious circumstances, Oceanic Flight 815 suddenly crashed unto a mysterious island. Was it by mere coincidence, or were the passengers destined to somehow meet? In honor of its 10 year anniversary, we picked out the top 10 episodes of Lost.

10) Solitary

Sayid (Andrews) shoots himself in the leg, so that the love of his life, Nadia, can escape. Saving her from execution, Nadia leaves him a photo with a written note on the back. She promises, "You will see me in the next life, if not in this one."

9) The Cost of Living

The best performance by Mr. Eko (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje). Before his death, Ecko shouts he did not sin, he only did what he needed to survive. He died bravely before the Smoke Monster attacked him.

8) Through The Looking Glass

This is where everything changed. We find out the Oceanic flight passengers of 815 made it out of the island. A drunken Jack stumbles towards Kate, yelling, "We have to go back!"

7) What Kate Did

Kate (Lily) murdered her biological father by blowing up his house. After Kate's confession, her stepfather gives the fugitive a head-start to run before he calls the police.

6) All the Best Cowboys Have Daddy Issues

This is where Jack comes to term with his father's death. Jack had to decide whether to or not his father's medical license should be revoked. Christian was under the influence of alcohol when he was operating on a pregnant woman.

5) The End

Whether or not you liked the conclusion, you have to admit you couldn't stop yourself from watching the series finale.

4) The Constant

We discover Desmond (Cusick) is "unstuck in time." Desmond's mind can travel back in time, from 2006 to 1996. With Michael Giacchino's beautiful music in the background, Desmond tells Penny he loves her before his phone call is cut off.

3) Ab Aeterno

An extended flashback where the episode is almost spoken entirely in Spanish. This is Nestor Carbonell giving his best performance as Richard, the immortal. Through Hurley (Jorge Garcia), Richard is able to speak with his beloved dead wife, Isabella.

2) Walkabout

This is the episode where we find out about Locke's secret. As the past and present timelines converge, we discover in the shocking conclusion, Locke was confined to a wheelchair. On the island though, he can stand on his own two feet.

1) Pilot

This is where it all started. When we saw the first opening 10 minutes, audiences immediately knew J.J. Abrams (the Star Trek remakes) was a master director. The first season then played out like a must-read novel on TV.

Lost reaches a milestone and celebrates its 10 year anniversary. Readers, what are your favorite episodes?
