Jacki Weaver Will Co-Star In Seth MacFarlane’s Starz Series ‘Blunt Talk’ Opposite Patrick Stewart

Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane is reportedly tackling pay cable. His live-action comedy series Blunt Talk, which will appear on Starz, just nabbed Silver Linings Playbook star Jacki Weaver as its female lead opposite Patrick Stewart, according to Deadline.

The series is being co-created by Bored To Death creator Jonathan Ames alongside MacFarlane.

Starz has reportedly ordered 20 episodes and two seasons of the show. And to boot, the network has asked for a straight-to-series order, which doesn't happen every day. However, given MacFarlane's track record in both film and television, perhaps it's not totally surprising.

Blunt Talk will revolve around Stewart's character, named Walter Blunt, an "infrequently sober but legendary British import intent on conquering the world of American cable news," as the publication claims.

Coined as "well-intended" but often "misguided," Blunt Talk will follow Walter Blunt's life both on and off the air. Weaver will play Stewart's tough, yet motherly producer-manager Rosalie Winter, who is on constant watch over Blunt's career. The two characters have been in business together for two decades and apparently had a one-night stand some years back, which will undoubtedly enter its way into the storyline at some point.

While MacFarlane and Ames will serve as the show's executive producers, Stewart will apparently have an additional title of producer on the show.

Adding to his new series, MacFarlane is gearing up to release his first ever holiday album Holiday For Swing, a record consisting of classic Christmas standards as well as a few rare gems.
