'True Detective' Season 2 Casting Rumors, Episodes Spoilers: Keira Knightley Rumored For Female Lead Opposite Vince Vaughn & Colin Farrell In HBO Series?

Season 2 of HBO's crime drama True Detective officially confirmed two huge casting updates this week when Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn were announced as the 2015 episodes' new protagonist and antagonist respectfully. This of course leaves the main female role(s) that creator Nic Pizzolatto and HBO announced earlier this year to be filled. Well we can add a new name to the long list of impressive actresses: Keira Knightley.

With the excitement of the confirmation running through our minds, plenty of us overlooked the new name added to the not so shortlist of female leads when Deadline broke the news. On top of the other starlets (Rosario Dawson, Kelly Reilly, Jessica Biel, Malin Akerman, Abigail Spencer, Oona Chaplin, Jaimie Alexander, Brit Marling, Elisabeth Moss, and Rachel McAdams - read more about this list HERE), Knightley's name was simply mentioned as another rumored A-lister.

"Rachel McAdams also continues to be mentioned, though she appears to have a scheduling conflict with a movie, with Keira Knightley's name also entering the mix," the news source stated.
