Walking Dead's Norman Reedus graced the cover of the first ever age issue of GQ's October issue where he revealed why he didn't take the 2001 role as boyfriend in the Jennifer Love Hewitt film Heartbreakers. His answer is pretty humorous.

Reedus revealed to the magazine that her turned down the role as Jennifer Love Hewitt's boyfriend in Heartbreakers because he was not apt to play the sweet boyfriend heroine.

"When that came around at the time, my agents at the time were, 'They like you for this part, and it's a Jennifer Love Hewitt movie.' And I'm like, 'Well, what do I do?' And they're, 'You're her boyfriend,' And I go, 'Well, do I rape her? Do I kill her? What do I do?' And they go, 'You're her sweet boyfriend.' And I was like, 'No! Absolutely not!' But yeah, I just assumed I had to rape and kill her."

Reedus got his first film in the 1997 Guillermo del Toro horror flick Mimic. Therefore, his requests of roles are not so far off if he wants to stick with the same genre of character. A sweet boyfriend type, not so much.

Who were these casting agents anyway!

"I mean, even today, if I watch Spider-Man or something, I root for the bad guy. I like the Joker better than I like Batman, you know what I mean? I'm still like that," he told the magazine.

In 2010 Reedus took the role of a lifetime as Daryl Dixon in the AMC series The Walking Dead. His character was not even in the original comic book series, however was created after his audition for the role.

The 2001 film Heartbreakers is a romantic-comedy starring Sigourney Weaver and Jennifer Love Hewitt. The plot goes as is... Mother and Daughter (Weaver and Hewitt) are a con artist team who seduce and scam wealthy men for their money.

We could see Reedus playing the con artists himself, but a wealthy man getting scammed? Forget it!
