Apparently Seth MacFarlane was "Taken" with Liam Neeson. The director and Family Guy creator has just confirmed the action star is slated for Ted 2, the sequel to his hit 2012 comedy.

Neeson joins a cast of who's who that includes Mark Wahlberg, Morgan Freeman, and Amanda Seyfried. Seyfried replaces Mila Kunis, who was the lead in the first movie. Sam Jones of Flash Gordon fame will also reprise his role as himself.

Neeson and Seyfiend must have won MacFarlane over after co-starring in this year's MacFarlane-directed film A Million Ways to Die in the West.

Neeson has been on a publicity tour as of late promoting his new film A Walk Among the Tombstones. The film, where he plays a detective fighting crime, opened this past weekend to an underwhelming $12.7 million.

Ted 2 will be somewhat of a departure for Neeson who, other than A Million Ways to Die in the West, has only been known for his starring roles in action movies the past few years. He played the iconic role of Oscar Schindler in Steven Spielberg's Schindler's List, but that was way back in 1993.

No word yet on the plot of the movie, but you can expect the foul-mouthed teddy bear to wreak havoc once again. Wouldn't it be hilarious if Neeson played a version of his Taken character and tried to rescue Ted from an evil Morgan Freeman? Could Morgan Freeman even play a bad guy? Ted being abducted was the plot of the first movie, but we've seen movie plots recycled for sequels. The Hangover 2 anyone?

The movie opens June 26, 2015.
