Who is going to take over the vacant seat left by Joan Rivers on Fashion Police has been the topic of conversation ever since E! announced it would continue with the series after the comedienne's death.

It was speculated that fellow funny lady Kathy Griffin would join Kelly Osbourne, Guiliana Rancic and George Kotsiopoulous on the panel of critics. Today, however, there is news that Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes might be in the running to take the spot.

According to RadarOnline, a source at perezhilton.com confirmed that the RHOA star and Glee actress could soon be adding "talk show host" to her résumé. The insider also revealed that E! is looking to shake up the panel by adding more ethnic diversity, which is where Leakes comes in.

Leakes has previous fashion experience, so it would make sense for her to want to join the cast. She has a clothing line, the NeNe Leakes Collection through HSN, and the last time the products were aired they sold out within a day.

It is reported that the race for who will take over Rivers's seat is heating up as Griffin is also a frontrunner.

But the show might be looking to even recast the entire panel, as the three stars were not too happy with the series continuing after Rivers's death. Osbourne was the most vocal, and according to RadarOnline the lavender-haired star said going on with the show without rivers would be "pointless."

New episodes of the show are set to premiere in January after the Golden Globes.
