Terence Winters' gangster drama, Boardwalk Empire, kicks it up another notch for its fifth and final season on HBO. Are Nucky Thompson (Steve Buscemi) and his former lover/wife Margaret Thompson (Kelly Macdonald) ready for the next shocking demise in the episode, 'Cuanto?'

Nucky (Buscemi) wakes up from his hangover and discovers Margaret (Macdonald) still in his private quarters. Margaret reveals that Arnold Rothstein's widow wants money that was stolen from her. She didn't know who else to turn to during this predicament.

Their conversation is abruptly cut short because of Joe Kennedy's arrival. Noticing how Margaret laughs at his jokes, Nucky feels threatened by Kennedy's smoothness and charisma. The flirtation bothers Nucky as he tries to keep the two separated.

Lucky Luciano (Vincent Piazza) arrives at Al Capone (Stephen Graham)'s luxurious suite, offering him a gift, a small figurine of the Empire State Building. The two mob bosses talk about working together and taking out the competition. When Capone asks about Nucky's Involvement, Lucky doesn't respond.

Lucky recognizes Nelson Van Alden (Michael Shannon) during the gathering. Though the two have previously met, Nelson denies the truth and keeps repeating the lies he fabricated for himself. As the arguments intensify, Capone reaches out and grabs his gun.

During the interrogation, Capone forces Nelson to open his mouth and swallow the barrel of a gun. Reminding Capone that he is the boss, Nelson tells him that it's disrespectful for Lucky to come into someone else's home and question what he does. Nelson is able to talk himself out of the deadly situation, but unfortunately, he soiled himself.

One of Capone's men turns out to be working for the feds. The undercover G-man discovers Capone's hit-man is really a wanted fugitive. There might be a way to break organized crime in Chicago after all.

In the flashbacks, Young Nucky (Nolan Lyons) is fired from his job as the Commodore's bellboy because the summer is cover. The boy's day keeps getting worse as he discovers his father cheating on his mother. Young Nucky and little Eli then break into the Commodore's hotel to steal some food.

The Sheriff (Boris McGiver) doesn't turn the boys in, but instead, invites them to his home. Nucky starts to tear up, realizing he's never had a cooked meal before. At the end of the day, the Sheriff offers Nucky a chance to work with him.

Margaret and Nucky are enjoying themselves as they chat and joke around while strolling across the boardwalk. Nucky knows Margaret can handle herself going up against Rothstein's angry wife. Margaret knows her former lover is up to something, but can't tell what he's planning.

Just when everyone is leaving, Capone is filled with fury, killing one of his own men with Lucky's gift. The entire luxury suite is caked in blood as Capone repeatedly stabs his helper with the Empire State Building figurine. Later, Capone makes a call to Nucky's home, telling him the bad news about Lucky wanting him dead.

Nucky's business partner, Sally Wheet (Patricia Arquette), is abruptly stopped by men with guns at the Cuban border. Though Sally tries to bribe her way through the situation, the military men want nothing she has to offer. When Sally steals one of their guns, she gets a bullet to the head.

The death count continues to rise in the latest episode of Boardwalk Empire. Readers, what did you think of 'Cuanto?'
