Janel Parrish and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy are a force to be reckoned with this season on Dancing with the Stars and it is all thanks to hard work. The duo has been in the top range of the leader board since season 19 began and the Pretty Little Liars star owes it all to her partner's tough love.

After performing the foxtrot in week two, and getting voted as the encore dance on Tuesday night's results show last week, Janel was really proud of what she did on stage. Her gorgeous dance was one of the judges' favorites and set her up with big expectations for this week's movie theme.

"I was really happy with my performance. It was a tough week as far as we really drilled things. Val was really tough on me, but it was tough love and that's the only way I was going to improve. I really needed to work on my technique. But hearing those nines and those eights definitely made it all worthwhile!" Janel wrote in her blog for People.

This week the couple tacked a performance from West Side Story. Before she hit the stage (and killed it) Janel wrote about the upcoming number and its awesome costume.

"I'm having so much fun picking out costumes. We have an amazing costume designer. They create everything from scratch and it's just been a dream. I'm the biggest girly-girl. Any time I see something with sparkles on it, I'm so excited," she said.

"I'm really looking forward to this week's performance. Jazz is really the only dance I have a tiny bit of experience in and I remember really loving it. It's such a fun dance. And I love Broadway; it's where I got my start. So this week is going to be a blast for me!" she added.

Janel looked like she was having a blast during her routine on Monday and we enjoyed watching it. Even though the duo had to change their entire routine two days into the practice week, they were flawless and achieved a perfect score of 40 points, the first perfect score of the season.
