The Mindy Project season three, episode three is all about love and lies. "Crimes & Misdemeanors & Ex-BFs" tackles love triangles and lawsuits and it is fantastic.

This week Mindy and Danny's relationship is hitting a new stride, but Danny isn't ready to let Mindy keep her things at his place. Even when she tries to hide her bag behind the toilet, in the microwave and on the fire escape, Danny finds it and gives it back to her. Luckily even when they are on different wavelengths this couple is adorable.

Later that day, Mindy is leading a presentation at work when she gets served with a lawsuit because she hasn't paid her taxes in six years. In order to save herself and not bring down the practice, Mindy turns to Cliff, her ex boyfriend and her lawyer. At first Cliff is not happy to see her and he makes her visit very uncomfortable. After lying about breaking up with Danny, Cliff agrees to help her with her taxes and Mindy couldn't be happier. "I can never repay you and I don't plan to," Mindy says as she leaves Cliff's office.

In other office drama, Peter still hates Jeremy for kissing Lauren, but is taking the high road because he is back together with her. Sadly, when Lauren meets Peter for dinner she tells him they need to put a pin in it and Peter is heartbroken. The next day Jeremy is annoyingly happy about going to lunch with someone. Peter does some investigating and discovers it is with Lauren and he is pissed.

Back to Mindy, she reveals to Danny that she lied to Cliff about their relationship to get his help. After pretending to cry, Mindy gets Danny's sympathy and he agrees to go along with the lie to save the practice. The next day at work, Danny and Mindy run into Cliff in the elevator and it is totally awkward. Cliff calls Danny out for cheating on Mindy (another lie Mindy told) and Danny sucks it up and goes along with it.

After their strange elevator ride, Danny tells Mindy she owes him big time. He wants her to role-play in bed as Frenchy from Grease. An odd request, but these two can do no wrong. Mindy then tells another lie, saying she has to go to the gym that night when she really is having dinner with Cliff to finish her case.

While at dinner, Cliff gets a little cozy with Mindy and then drops a bomb on her. He reveals that Danny is still married! Mindy freaks out and tells Danny that she cannot be a mistress. Danny gets angry by the whole situation and goes to Cliff and accidentally reveals that he is still with Mindy. Cliff had a feeling they were together, but still agrees to help Danny finalize his divorce... for one small price of course.

Meanwhile back at the OBGYN office, Jeremy discovers that he might be deported. Peter loves the idea because he thinks he would have a chance with Lauren if Jeremy were out of the picture. Jeremy quickly admits that Lauren already said she wants to put a pin in their relationship. Unfortunately for Peter, when Lauren discovers Jeremy is going to be deported (he isn't getting deported anymore) she decides she wants him back and they make up. Poor, Peter!

Back in Danny's apartment, Cliff helps Danny finalize his divorce and Danny gives him his Yankee stadium chair (which he loves almost as much as he loves Mindy), which is really hard for him. Before Cliff leaves he asks if Danny is really dating Mindy, because there are no signs of her in his apartment. He then reveals he is going to burn the chair because he is a Red Sox fan and it's like a dagger to Danny's heart.

The final scene shows Danny and Mindy back in his apartment. She tells him she can't stay because she doesn't want to sleep with a married man. Danny then explains he is no longer married and life is good between the couple. Danny then gets super romantic and shows Mindy a new dresser (that is pink and girly) that he bought for her things. It is a really sweet gesture and the two go to bed happy.
