Amal Alamuddin might be the most envied woman in the world right now, having tied the knot with Hollywood heartthrob George Clooney in Venice this past weekend.

For her fairy-tale wedding, Amal wanted her dream dress to come to life. The man for the job? Oscar de la Renta.

"George and I wanted a wedding that was romantic and elegant, and I can't imagine anyone more able than Oscar to capture this mood in a dress," Amal told Vogue. "Meeting him made the design process all the more magical, as he is so warm and such a gentleman."

Amal and Oscar decided on an off-the shoulder French lace gown with a hand-embroidered bodice of pearls and crystals. The gown also featured a full train, and the final touch was a cathedral veil, which was adorned with Chantilly lace and bead-and-crystal embellishments. The veil hung elegantly all the way down the back of the dress, almost reaching the floor. How dreamy is that?

"It's the most important dress in the life of a woman," said Oscar. "Any girl from any walk of life dreams of that special dress, and I try to make that dream a reality for her. Amal and I looked at a lot of evening dresses and wedding dresses together, and we discussed what she liked. That gave me the idea of what she wanted."

Oscar also provided Amal with a second dress to be worn at the wedding reception. This dress is a Gatsby-style party frock with silver and pearl beading from Oscar's fall 2014 collection. Since she would be dancing in the dress, it was shortened from ankle to mid-thigh, which allowed her to show off her long, model-esque legs.

The new length also helped show off her hand-embroidered, beaded, silver pumps. These little treasures have yet to make their debut at Oscar's spring 2015 fashion show — perks of becoming Mrs. Clooney.

Amal chose to keep her hair, makeup and accessories simple. She decided to wear her hair down, neatly tucked behind the shoulders to not interfere with the neckline of the gown and veil. Makeup was kept light and natural. For accessories, she wore natural pearl earrings with diamond accents, a gift from her parents, Baria and Ramzi Alamuddin.

And last but not least, her new platinum wedding band, which features a dazzling 7-carat, emerald-cut diamond.

Congrats to the lovely newlyweds!
