Jessica Chastain Covers Harper's Bazaar UK, Chats Acting Withdrawals: "There Was This Feeling Of Being Sad Or Depressed."

Gorgeous redhead Jessica Chastain covers Harper's Bazaar U.K. October 2014 issue. The star chats about feeling grief from not working and not being one to like the limelight.

As an Academy Award nominee for Best Actress, the Zero Dark Thirty star struggles with knowing what to do with herself when she is not working.

"I started to feel really negative about myself, down on who I am, and then I realized it's because I've had so much time away from me that I don't really know what I like to do anymore," she revealed to the magazine. "I'm out of it now, but there was this feeling of being sad or depressed ... wanting to go to another project ... Perhaps it is like [an addiction] ... maybe the [past] three months were my withdrawal!"

For her performance in Zero Dark Thirty and the 2013 horror flick Mama led film critic Richard Roeper to describe her as "one of the finest actors of her generation."

Currently Chastain is starring in the Guillermo Del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth) horror film, Crimson Peak which is to be released in Oct. 2015.

With being cast in blockbuster hits, there comes a price, and that's fame. Many people equate fame with self-confidence. However, many times that is not the case, and that's how Chastain feels. "Probably there are some people who feel great about themselves and don't second-guess anything they say or do or wear ... But that's just not me."

As of 2012 she has been in a relationship with Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo, an Italian-born executive for French fashion clothing, Monclear.

Though her personal life has very little freedom, she leaves acting to fill that void. "I don't know what I'd do if I wasn't acting. It doesn't mean I have to be in movies or have success... I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have this form of expression because it offers me a freedom I don't have in my personal life."
