It's been 30 years since Michael Jackson's legendary music video for Thriller was released and now the iconic video is coming back and it's going to be better than ever.

In 2015, Jackson fans will get a treat or a trick when they revive the Thriller video, this time in 3-D! According to New York Daily News, the iconic music video, which was originally released in 1983, will be back in 3-D next year.

The video's original director John Landis is heading up the project after tying up loose ends with the singer's estate. The video, which is 14 minutes long and features Jackson becoming a monster, might even come to theaters once it is finished.

"[Thriller] is going to reappear in a highly polished and three-dimensional way that is very exciting on the big screen," John told the New York Daily News. "I cannot tell you any more. I might have to kill you," he joked.

Landis once revealed that Thriller was more than a monster video; it was a coming of age story. "In adolescence, youngsters begin to grow hair in unexpected places and parts of their anatomy swell and grow. Everyone experiences these physical transformations in their bodies and new, unfamiliar, sexual thoughts in their minds. No wonder we readily accept the concept of a literal metamorphosis," he explained about the werewolf metaphor via Rolling Stone.

So what else does Thriller have in store for its future? The revival of the music video for starters, and then possibly a video game next.

"The iconic video has never been released on Blu-ray or seen in cinemas and 3-D, and that was always a vision Michael had. In fact, his 'This Is It' London show was meant to feature a segment which included a 3-D performance," a source close to the family told New York Daily News.

"The estate has been looking at gaming ideas, too, and Thriller fits into the genre. It could a be a dance experience or a zombie-style,shoot-' em-up-style movie. There are so many possibilities with this creative masterpiece," the insider added.
