Baywatch is reportedly coming to the big screen! Paramount has loosely attached Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson for beach patrol duties.

The studios have summoned writer Justin Malen and comedy writing team Sean Anders and John Morris to direct.

The movie is reportedly taking place along the original shows shores of Southern California. It would only be appropriate to include beefy hunk The Rock. The Fast & Furious star is no stranger to playing the hero type in action movies.

The studio has been in talks for a Baywatch movie for a long time now with numerous writers attempting a good enough script, such as Jeremy Garelick and Peter Tolan. As The Hollywood Reporter states, the original script was to revolve around a shark attack, which in turn leads to an investigation of drug-smuggling operations. How the script is looking now is unclear.

The Rock has been one to be highly committed to the roles he takes on, like his role in Hercules. "Once I committed to the role, I approached it as if this was the very last shot anyone was every going to have to play the character."

If he is cast in the movie, we believe he will give his life-saving, beach sprinting character all he has.

Baywatch the TV show ran from 1989-1999, except for its 1990-1991 season that was not in production.

The show scripts the lifeguards of the Los Angles County, starring David Hasselhoff. It's also where Pamela Anderson got her career break.

The team of lifeguards mixed with their personal relationships played out on this drama series is one of the most referenced TV show of all time.
