All we can say is it's about time!

It's been reported that comedian Bill Burr will shoot a pilot for the FX network. Deadline claims that the famed comedian, who has appeared off the stage in shows such as Breaking Bad and New Girl, will star in a comedy pilot created by It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia writers John Chernin and Dave Chernin.

It's Always Sunny creator Rob McElhenny is on the bill to direct the pilot as well.

Named Pariah, the series will center on television personality Joe Abbott (played by Burr) who is basically kicked out of show business following an on-screen meltdown. He's then forced to "navigate society as a man with no apparent skills," as the publication claims.

The project will house a few other It's Always Sunny team members; it's being produced by RCG Prods., which is the very same company that produces the aforementioned FX hit – it's also owned by McElhenny, Charlie Day and Glenn Howerton.

Alongside Burr as executive producer, the show will include both Chernins, 3 Arts Management's Dave Becky (also an executive producer on Louie), Michael Rotenberg and Nick Frenkel as exec producers.

FX executive Nick Grad said of the project, "Bill Burr is a great comedic talent. Teaming with Rob, Charlie and Glenn, along with John and Dave is a perfect recipe for a terrific comedy pilot."

Should you need a little more proof, check out Burr's 2012 special You People Are All The Same. Sure it's lengthy but it's also hilarious...
