Bones kickstarted its season 10 premiere FOX with a shocking demise. After losing one of their own, will things only get darker for Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) as they face someone a "little more evil?"

As we mentioned here, Booth (Boreanaz) was framed for the alleged murder of three FBI agents, who turned out to  trained assassins ordered to kill him. Lance Sweets (John Francis Daley) was murdered while trying to find the evidence that would clear Booth's name. Is this the start of a darker path for Booth?

In our follow-up to Sweets' death, we saw how devastated Booth became over his friend's death. In the footage, Booth and Brennan's adorable daughter, Christine, is dressed and ready for "Uncle Sweets" to take her to the park. The parents haven't even told the little girl that her favorite uncle won't be around. Booth tears-up as he watches Brennan explain to a innocent child about death.

Sweets' death is just the beginning of darker stories to come. Booth and Brennan will have to face a deadly adversary in the second half of the season.

In an interview with E! online, executive producer Stephen Nathan explains, "I can safely say that there is going to be something else lurking out there. I don't think the world ever exists with simple murders...I think we need something a little more evil."

Nathan continues, "It might be in the second half of the year. We'll be getting involved in another case where there's someone who's not nice, not a good person."

After suffering a major loss, will Booth and Brennan be able to stay strong against their deadly adversary?

Bones continues Thursdays 8pm on FOX . Readers, what did you think of this new big bad for Booth and Brennan?
