The Maze Runner just hit theaters last month, but its sequel is running full-speed ahead already, especially in the casting department. Last week we told you about Game of Thrones villainous actor Aidan Gillen would portray the antagonist in The Scorch Trials and now another TV baddie has signed on. Giancarlo Esposito (Gus from Breaking Bad) has joined the cast as Jorge, the leader of the Cranks!

Read our coverage of Aidan Gillen's casting right here!

Though we're used to Esposito as a critically acclaimed drug lord for AMC, his most recent hiring places him in the role of Cranks leader Jorge, who is also featured in the third book of James Dasher's YA series, The Death Cure. In other words, we'll be seeing a lot more of Esposito in a very different role than we're use to.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rosa Salazar (Parenthood) and Jacob Lofland (Justified) have also joined the sequel to one of 2014's biggest blockbusters, both of which will be portraying other survivors joined by returning cast members including Dylan O'Brien and Kaya Scodelario.

Salazar and Scodelario will get involved in a love triangle with O'Brien in the sequel, so add that tension to the overwhelming danger of trying to survive and you've got a winner!

Wes Ball will return to direct this sequel, with filming starting up this fall. The Scorch Trials is set to hit theaters September 18, 2015.
