Thursday marks what would have been pop sensation Whitney Houston's 49th birthday. The late singer is remembered and honored by her daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown and Brown's boyfriend Nick Gordon through affectionate posts on Twitter. The couple also got matching tattoos emblazoned with the initials "WH" in remembrance of the woman whom they both considered a loving mother.

On Wednesday Brown, 19, tweeted:

The R&B/pop singer Houston was found dead in her room at the Beverly Hills Hotel on February 9, 2012, the cause officially ruled as an "accidental drowning." Houston will star in the upcoming drama "Sparkle" alongside Jordin Sparks and Terrence Jenkins. The film hits theaters August 17.

Sparks reveres Houston as a true inspiration on set, stating, "I wish everybody could have been there like a fly on the wall to see her walk on to set every day," Sparks told us. "She was so excited to be there, to be doing all of this."

Houston's friends and family encourage fans to celebrate the "I Will Always Love You" star's birthday and life by tweeting messages using the hashtags #SPARKLE and #HappyBdayWhitney on Twitter.
