It's been a crazy few days for Formula One racing. First Sebastian Vettel announced he will leave Red Bull, most likely for Ferrari, then Lewis Hamilton won the Japanese Grand Prix, but that still wasn't the headline-making news. Racer Jules Bianchi, a driver for Marussia, suffered severe head injures in a crash, and he is now in hospital fighting for his life. In the space of a few days F1 have suffered the sad, the strange and what could be the most devastating news to grace the sport in years.

All attention was on Jules, who left the track and collided with a recovery vehicle. This left the 25-year-old unconscious, and the race was stopped, with Hamilton winning the race. The FIA insisted "The CT scan shows that he has suffered a severe head injury and is currently undergoing surgery. Following this he will be moved to intensive care where he will be monitored. Mie General Hospital will issue an update as soon as further information becomes available."

Matteo Bonciani explained, "The driver is unconscious. He has been sent to hospital by ambulance because the helicopter cannot go in these conditions. Further updates will follow. For the moment, we cannot say anything."

While everyone has been locked in F1 debates, something shocking has shaken the sport, and now the world are sharing their prayers, thoughts and love with the injured driver. How can F1 be made safe, or is this a risk the drivers take every time they get out on the track?
