Olympic Swimmers Phelps and Lochte Ready to Compete on DWTS?

Although Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte may be better known as the star swimmers on the U.S.A Olympic team, neither gold medal winner is ready to rule out taking their talents to the dance floor.

When asked on "Good Morning America" Thursday which reality show the Olympic heartthrob might want to pursue given his current fame, Lochte answered, "I'd definitely have to go with 'Dancing With the Stars.' It's a competition and I have that competitive edge in me."

Phelps agrees that a "Dancing With the Stars" stint wouldn't be totally out of the question since now his Olympic golden days are over. In an interview with Us Weekly Phelps said, "I haven't really been known for my dancing. I know everyone who's done it - I've talked to [speed skater Apolo Anton Ohno] and [swimmer Natalie Coughlin] about it, and they said they've enjoyed it and had a blast. I won't say I'm ruling anything out, who knows?"

Other Olympic stars that have appeared on the hit dance reality series (as Phelps mentions Ohno and Couglin above) include gymnast Shawn Johnson, beach volleyball player Misty May-Treanor, and soccer player Hope Solo.

Phelps admits he would prefer fellow Olympic swimmer Coughlin as his dance partner, stating,  "She's gone through it all before and Natalie and I have been on a lot of teams together. She literally couldn't stop talking about how much fun the show was."

Lochte closes his DWTS shout-out with, "It'd probably definitely wouldn't be your normal reality TV show because I'm not definitely not your normal guy."

From the pool to the dance floor, looks like fans can wait and see if "Dancing with the Stars" producers take either Olympian up on his offer.
