With the premiere of the new CW superhero series The Flash hours away, audiences are anxiously waiting to see two scarlet speedsters sharing the same screen. Will actor John Wesley Shipp, who played the DC Comics superhero in the early 1990s, be rescued by Barry Allen, now played by Grant Gustin?

We mentioned here, the Dawson's Creek actor has joined the cast in the recurring role of Henry Allen, Barry's father. In the pilot, Henry is framed for a murder he didn't commit. Locked behind bars, he has been incarcerated for the death of his beloved wife. Now that his son has super-speed powers, will Barry attempt to break his father out of prison?

USA Today got the scoop on the relationship between Henry and Barry. During this season of The Flash, not only will there be supervillains to face, but there'll also be drama between father and son.

Gustin said, "I think one of the biggest arcs is trying to get [Henry] out and also dealing with the fact [that] now I could break him out and the moral dilemma of knowing I shouldn't. It's going to be the journey of figuring out how we can prove his innocence and how these powers can help."

As we previously mentioned, Gustin shared some set photos on his official Instagram. Barry will show up in prison to meet with his father, but he will also do it in his superhero costume.

Shipp described how Henry views their relationship.

"I think I'm letting him go. He's moving closer," he said. "So, the dynamic of how we work that out is going to be interesting."

We also mentioned actress Amanda Pays, who co-starred with Shipp, will reprise her role as Dr. Tina McGee, but this time, she will play a baddie. Shipp is just one of the five reasons why The Flash is must-see TV.

The Flash premieres on The CW tonight at 8 p.m.
