Actress Jessica Chastain covers Glamour magazine's November 2014 issue and reveals being bullied in school as well as empowering female lead roles in Hollywood.

Many would assume that somebody as beautiful as Chastain didn't have to deal with bullying as a child; this was not the case for her. "I was told every day at school that I was ugly. And that no one wanted to be my friend. The most cruel things.... If I can do anything to help young girls and to be a cheerleader for people who sometimes have low self-esteem, I want to do that."

"I'm really, really supportive of women in Hollywood. I love Meryl Streep. She's such an incredible actress," Chastain said. "But I feel like she's the only one in her age group who gets those parts. I'd like to see Jessica Lange in a movie again, you know? Or Susan Sarandon Why isn't Viola Davis a lead in a film? She's one of the greatest actresses alive. And where are the Asian actors and actresses?"

Chastain played a vital role in the 2012 military film Zero Dark Thirty where she received wide recognition for her part. She won Broadcast Film Critics Association Award for Best Actress and the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama. She also received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress.

"We don't want movies about men.' I'm just saying, 'Come on, all the men I know love women. So let's also have some stories about these women. Let's write something for them, guys-and let's make room for women writers too,"

The year 2012 was not only her big year. She started gaining public recognition for starring in seven film releases in 2011, which included her role in The Help for her role as Celia Foote. She earned a nomination for Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
