Steven Stamkos Has Photographic Memory: Tampa Bay Lightning Centerman Proves Freakish Ability to Recall All Goals He's Scored in NHL [VIDEO]

Tampa Bay Lightning centerman Steven Stamkos has a photographic memory. All those hits to the boards he's taken over the years, and they've done nothing to mess with his head. (Or maybe that's why his memory is so good?) Anyway, he can remember every goal he's ever scored in the NHL, with detail, including the play leading up to the goal. Stamkos recently sat down for an interview with TSN's James Duthie and proved his freakish ability on camera.

To kick off the "challenge," Duthie named a randomly-chosen game and challenged Stamkos to a round of memory.

"I went randomly on YouTube and just picked out a random goal for you," he said. "November 7, 2013, 4-2 win over Edmonton [Oilers] - go!"

"Yeah, I had two goals that day," Stamkos said, before spewing off all the details.

Impressive, right?

Stamkos has been in the league for six years and has netted 233 goals. That's a lot of hockey to remember. And yet, he does it with ease.

At just 24 years old, Stamkos has a lot of hockey – and lots more goals – ahead of him. In fact, last year alone Stakmos scored 25 goals in 37 games for the Lightning, good enough for 44 in the league. He also notched 15 assists, giving him a total of 40 points on the year.

Stamkos and the Lightning will open the 2014-15 season on Thursday with a matchup at home against the Carolina Panthers. In six pre-season games, the team has won five and lost only one.
