'RHONJ' Teresa Giudice Prison Interview Payday: Bravo Star, Husband Joe Paid $325K For Andy Cohen Sit-Down

Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice may be going to prison, but not before she gets a big payday from her network Bravo. Teresa and husband Joe Giudice sat down for an exclusive two-on-one interview with host Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live, airing in two parts this week. According to TMZ, the couple got paid a whopping $325,000 for the interview. That's a lot of Fabellinis!

The network originally wanted the RHONJ star for $275,000, but threw in another $50,000 if Joe would do the interview, too. The money will come in handy, as the couple was ordered to pay $400,000 in restitution to the government.

The couple pled guilty to mortgage and bankruptcy fraud after lying to the government on their tax returns. Teresa was given 15 months in prison while Joe will be behind bars for 41 months.

According to the (New York) Daily News, the reality stars chose Bravo to do their first sit-down interview not only for the money, but also to stay on the show.

"Other outlets had offered them a ton of money, but they want to try to keep Bravo happy," said the paper's source. "They have made a lot of dumb moves, but they're hoping that there will be a job for Teresa down the line. They are also begging that Joe be part of the next season while Teresa is in jail. They need the money."

In one of the more shocking claims in Part 1 of the interview, which aired last night, Teresa said she didn't fully understand what was involved in the plea deal.

"I thought my lawyer was going to fight for me. I mean, that's what lawyers do. I don't know. That's why you hire an attorney. You put it in their hands," she said. "I mean, whatever they wanted from me — believe me — I followed their direction. Whatever they wanted, I gave them. I'm not trying to hide anything."

Part 2 of the interview airs on Watch What Happens Live Thursday, Oct. 9, on Bravo.
