Actor Stephen Collins, of 7th Heaven fame, is in a firestorm of controversy after an audio taping of him confessing to molesting young girls surfaced today ... and now his wife's speaking out. As MStars News reported, the audio in question was recorded in a private therapy session between the actor and his estranged wife Faye Grant. In it, former WB star admitted to sexually abusing at least three underage girls in New York and Los Angeles. The graphic recording was given to TMZ by an unknown source.

In a statement to E! News, Collins's wife denied it was her who released the tape to the TMZ.

"I woke up today to learn that an extremely private recording I handed over to the authorities in 2012 per their request in connection with a criminal investigation was recently disseminated to the press," she said. "I had no involvement whatsoever with the release of the tape to the media."

In more shocking divorce documents released by TMZ, Collins's wife says the actor has a "long-term pattern of sexually molesting children" and that he "admitted that he had sexually molested 3 underage girls over a decade ago: At least two of these girls were molested over the course of several years."

She goes on to say, "I have urged Stephen multiple times to seek treatment for pedophilia, but he has refused to seek proper help or hospitalization for the predilection toward children."

According to her, she had no prior knowledge of her husband's predilections before January 2012.

This comes on the heels of the actor's firing from the movie Ted 2 and his resignation from the board of the Screen Actors Guild.
