New ‘Life Partners’ Trailer With Actresses Leighton Meester And Gillian Jacobs [WATCH]

Life Partners, starring Leighton Meester and Gillian Jacobs, premieres its first trailer a month before the film is set to hit theaters.

The film debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year and is about two best friends played by Leighton Meester (from Gossip Girl) and Gillian Jacobs (from Community). The two best friends are each other's longest relationship and are totally inseparable until a wrench is thrown into the equation.

Paige (played by Gillian) gets a new boyfriend Tim (played by Adam Brody from The O.C.) and her BFF Sasha (played by Leighton) cannot handle it. Sasha is an underachieving lesbian who is used to watching The Bachelor and drinking scotch with her best friend. The story follows these two friends as they try and keep their friendship alive when one friend is clearly growing in a different direction.

"I've felt those feelings of being fearful of change and having a lot invested in your friendships. This felt a lot like real life," Meester told Entertainment Weekly.

"This movie is about women and their friendship, lives, and careers-things that interest them other than dating, guys, love, and sex," she added. "My character is the type that speaks to all kinds of women and is characteristic of what I hope to keep doing."

The Country Strong actress admitted that this film challenged her to improve and be in the moment. "What you see is mostly improvised. I hadn't had a lot of experience with free-for-all improvisation, but I felt that trying new things was really fun and helped make me feel more connected to the character," she told the publication.

In the new trailer, Paige and her boyfriend Tim are seen cuddling and kissing, while Sasha cries and eats fast food. No matter what they both go through, they are each other's best friend. "We're still the only ones who think we're funny," Paige tells Sasha in the clip.

Life Partners hits theaters November 6.
