Some fans believe that "7th Heaven" star Stephen Collins tried killing himself after his disturbing child molestation confession went public earlier this week.

However, such suicide reports are completely FALSE!

The 67-year-old "Because I Said So" actor did not shoot himself at his Tarzana, California rental home.

Late Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 7), authorities rushed to the home after several neighbors reported hearing "loud gunshots" coming from the direction of Collins' residence. Former "Baywatch" babe Donna D'Errico (who lives close by) even tweeted:

@DonnaDErrico: "That guy from 7th Heaven lives right around the corner from me & just shot himself a few minutes ago..."

@DonnaDErrico: "That's all I know. The police have the street cordoned off and aren't even letting residents in."

Rumors of Collins' sudden death soon went viral on social media, but most Twitter fans quickly debunked the shocking suicide claims:

@ADayOutInParis: "If Stephen Collins committed suicide it just shows how much of a coward he is But rest assured, his day of judgement will come, dead or alive."

@istealhotsauce: "@StephenCollins i'm glad to hear you're ok. we all thought you were dead thanks to some Baywatch babe. stop making kids touch your weiner."

@beckybradway: "So all those media outlets reported that actor Stephen Collins was dead based on the report of a Baywatch star. Oh dear."

@taargus_taargus: "Called it. Stephen Collins is dead. Shot himself."

@caa1000: "AGAIN! EVERYTHING YOU HEARD OR READ ON STEPHEN COLLINS IS NOT YET VERIFIED AND IS PENDING INVESTIGATION. HE IS NOT DEAD AS RUMORED."

@kristieLowe_: "Twitter killed off Stephen Collins then raise him from the dead! Holy s*it!"

@itsjenwbitches: "Twatter was more fun a few minutes ago when Stephen Collins was dead. Now that he's alive again we are back to boring."

@BBCandice: "I am glad Stephen Collins isn't dead. I felt like he might kill himself but being alive and facing shame and public embarrassment is better."

Intense stuff. Details surrounding the entire incident still remain hazy, but when everything was deemed a false alarm, D'Errico later tweeted:

@DonnaDErrico: "All I know is what all my neighbors told me. Hoping it's a false alarm. It's a zoo out here. I'm going to bed."

@DonnaDErrico: "I just tweeted out what I was being told by my neighbor who were on scene. I apologize for tweeting what I'd heard before confirming it."

On Tuesday morning, TMZ released this disturbing audio, where Collins reveals that he molested several young girls to his now estranged wife, Faye Grant:

Police are now investigating the horrific claims. Collins has yet to release any statements.
