Los Angeles Lakers guard Nick Young underwent thumb surgery on Monday and was escorted out of Howard Hughes Medical Centre in LA by his girlfriend, "Fancy" singing Australian pop star Iggy Azalea.

Sure, missing the first eight weeks of the NBA season isn't ideal, but when you've got Azalea and a $21 million contract to fall back on, things aren't looking so bad after all! Young required surgery on his right thumb after he tore the radial collateral ligament while guarding superstar teammate Kobe Bryant in practice last week.

"It hurts us, as far as that's a guy that we know that can come off the bench and provide instant offense for us," Lakers coach Byron Scott told ESPN on Monday. "Obviously, we're going to have to look elsewhere for that ... It hurts us. I really looked at our roster and thought we had 10 to 12 guys that I thought were really good at what we could do. We were going to have a really balanced rotation, but sometimes you have to make adjustments."

As noted, the surgery will keep Young out of the Lakers' lineup for the first eight weeks of the season, but thanks to the new four-year, $21 million contract he just signed, he'll still be getting paid –– big time!

As for his relationship with Azalea, the two began dating a little over a year ago. She revealed to TMZ in April that they went to Target on their first date. "You can really get to know someone at Target," Azalea said, "like what kind of quilts are you into, what's your favorite movies? What kind of snacks do you like?"
