Mariah Carey is single and ready to mingle so she is trying recruit rapper Nas to help her find a new man!

Mariah just separated from her husband Nick Cannon in August after six years of marriage. The "We Belong Together" singer is so desperate to get over Nick with someone else that she is looking to friend Nas for assistance.

According to US Weekly, Mariah "texted Nas, wondering if he had any friends she could go out with — or even just hook up with," a source told the mag. "But Nas is nervous to introduce her to anyone."

Mariah and Nas would seem likely an unlikely pair that would be friends, but the two have known each other for a long time. They even teamed up for the song "Dedicated" on her most recent album.

There were even rumors that the two were an item, but Nick squashed those.

"[Nas is] a friend of mine, he's a friend of hers," he said on Howard Stern's Sirius XM radio show. "She went to his birthday party, and I think it was in L.A. We actually talked about this before. It'd be very difficult to make me jealous."

Of course, the America's Got Talent host made these remarks before they split up for good.

While Mariah is trying to find a man through Nas, Nick is getting help from former American Idol judge Randy Jackson. According to US Weekly, Nick and Randy went out to dinner at the trendy Matsuhisa in Beverly Hills a couple weeks ago with a hot blonde by their side.

A source told Us that after Randy had to go Nick and the blonde "kept chatting and laughing. Nick had a big smile on his face."

Do you think it's a good idea for Mariah to ask Nas for help or should she wait to date again?
