The upcoming Terminator film, known as Genisys and sometimes Terminator 5, has many moviegoers a little confused in terms of how it fits in with the franchise. Is it a reboot, a sequel, or a remake? Well with the lack of a trailer and a 2015 release date approaching, we only have cast interviews to go by. Jai Courtney, who plays Kyle Reese in the upcoming sci-fi movie, this week explained that the film is most likely a standalone and that it'll be rated PG-13. Find out what he meant below!

Speaking with The Arnold Fans, Courtney talked about his hopes of this being an R-rated film, but PG-13 is most likely going to happen.

"I would love to see it be rated R, but I don't think it will. I think in this day & age, it's much more likely to be PG-13. There were no f-bombs," he explained. "But there'll be a healthy amount of movie violence."

These days, PG-13 doesn't exactly mean a terrible movie. It only means less foul language, really.

So what about this news about the film not being a sequel or remake? Courtney spoke with HuffPost Live, explaining a little bit how the film can be described.

"What I can say is that we start in a place we're familiar with from the early films and then, you know, circumstances change. It somewhat shifts the course of events from that point," he said. "It's not necessarily a sequel or a reboot. I don't even know how you brand it correctly. We're not remaking one of the early Terminator movies. And it doesn't necessarily carry on from the point where we left off."

So what do you think of Courtney's comments? Let us know below!
