The shocking news surrounding former 7th Heaven star Stephen Collins has cost him a guest-starring role on an upcoming Season 4 episode of ABC's Scandal.

Buzzfeed first reported and E! News confirmed the actor, who allegedly confessed to molesting young girls in an audiotape leaked to the press, has been removed from the show. "We can confirm that we will not be airing any footage with Stephen Collins," an ABC representative told E! News.

Collins played Reverend Eric Camden for 11 seasons on 7th Heaven and previously appeared in a Scandal episode in 2012 as Reed Walace. He tweeted in September about his upcoming guest spot. "Happy to say I did another episode of #Scandal," he wrote. "Had a gr8 time. Wish I could say more but @ShondaRhimes would have to kill me."

The tape's release led to Collins' firing from the upcoming movie Ted 2 and his resignation from the SAG-Aftra board.

Multiple networks have already stopped airing reruns of 7th Heaven in the wake of the news.

"As a top family-friendly network, we are deeply concerned for the families that are potentially affected by these disturbing allegations surrounding actor Stephen Collins," UP TV President Charley Humbard said in a statement. "7th Heaven has been a beloved family show and a fan-favorite on our network. We have made the decision to remove the series from our schedule effective at 5 p.m. ET today."
