It's official! Real Housewives of Atlanta stars Phaedra Parks and Apollo Nida are getting divorced after five years of marriage. Earlier this year, Apollo was sentenced to eight years in prison after he plead guilty to charges of mail, wire, and bank fraud. He started his sentence earlier this month so it wasn't a surprise that Phaedra finally took the step to end their marriage.

According to E! News, Phaedra "has retained an attorney with the intent of amicably ending her marriage," her rep, Steve Honig, said.

Apollo is aware of what comes with going to prison. He was behind bars for six years from 2003 to 2009 for car theft.

Apollo put the RHOA star on blast in July when he went on a radio show and talked about if his marriage will last and his anger towards his wife.

"I doubt it," he said to Atlanta's B100 radio station when asked if his marriage will survive. "I mean, my wife didn't even f**king show up for my sentencing. I'm still salty about that."

The saddest thing about the whole situation is the couple has two very young children: Dylan and Ayden.

Before Apollo reported to prison, E! News reported that he had "been out partying every single night" and "made things very uncomfortable" for Phaedra.

It seems Apollo only wants one thing from Phaedra and it's not to get back together.

"When he does speak to Phaedra, it's always about money," the source told E!. "He owes a huge debt in restitution and he wants to know if she's going to help him with it. 'Are you going to give me money?' is always his question. He still wants her financial support."

Apollo and the Bravo reality star's marriage has been strained for years. On Real Housewives of Atlanta, Phaedra accused co-star Kenya Moore of trying to get her husband in bed. Kenya denied it, but it's a storyline that still plays out in the upcoming season.

Do you think Phaedra is doing the right thing by finally divorcing Apollo?
