Rihanna Tearfully Opens Up about Chris Brown in Oprah Interview

"Oprah's Next Chapter" interview with Rihanna airs on August 19 at 9 p.m. E.T. Oprah Winfrey travels with the hip-hop songstress back to her hometown in Barbados, where the "S&M" star surprises her mom with a special gift and lets her true emotions flow when discussing her relationship with former boyfriend Chris Brown.

In a sneak peak clip of the episode, Rihanna tearfully opens up about her public breakup with hip-hop artists Chris Brown, who was arrested and pleaded guilty for assaulting her in 2009. Rihanna attempts to stay strong when she admits to Winfrey, "It was embarrassing. It was humiliating. I lost my best friend."

Winfrey also released her own promotional video for the Rihanna episode on the "Oprah's Next Chapter" webpage. In the video the talk show host salutes 24-year-old Rihanna's honesty, vulnerability, and thoughtfulness. Check out both videos below:
