Treon Harris has been reinstated to the Florida Gators football team after it was revealed on Friday that his accuser had withdrawn her sexual assault complaints, the university announced in a statement on Friday (October 10).

"The student who accused Treon Harris of sexual battery has withdrawn her criminal complaint," university spokeswoman Janine Sikes said in the statement. "This means she is not pursuing criminal charges against him at this time but maintains the right to do so in the future. The police report will be released when it is available. The UAA will have more information on his football status later in the day."

Sikes also added that "the university always will take swift and decisive action when we have concerns about the safety of our students."

Shortly after the accusations were dropped, the team announced in a three-part statement on Twitter that the senior quarterback would be cleared to re-join the team effective immediately.

"We have been notified that the University and legal process is complete," the statement, posted on behalf of head coach Will Muschamp, reads. "Treon has been reinstated to the team, but he will not play Saturday. This has been a learning experience for everyone involved. Treon has been honest with me throughout the process and is looking forward to rejoining his teammates."

Just the day before, Harris's lawyer had released a statement indicating that the accuser was actually "the sexual aggressor with not one, but two young men last Sunday morning."

"We know that an individual has given testimony to law enforcement that he had sexual relations with the alleged victim less than an hour before the alleged sexual conduct with our client took place," an attorney from Johnson & Osteryoung said. "In fact, testimony indicates that the young lady in question was the sexual aggressor in that interaction."
