While it seems that Amanda Bynes doesn't have much support amongst the celebrity community in the wake of her most recent antics in New York City, it does look like Lena Dunham has a few compliments for the former actress. Dunham was attending the New Yorker Festival last night where she was speaking about her new book Not That Kind of Girl, and the conversation soon turned to Bynes.

According to Complex, the Girls actress revealed that she saw a lot of similarities between Amanda and her character Hannah from the HBO series

"I don't know if I'm the only one who's been closely following Amanda Bynes's tweets today," Dunham states. "She's clearly off her medication, the whole situation is really bad... But she did say something kind of similar [to Hannah] which was, 'I'm not crazy, I'm actually the one who knows everything that's happening.' I texted [Jenny Konner] and said, 'Maybe I'm nuts, but I think Amanda Bynes is actually kind of a great writer. Do you know what I mean?' She was like, 'I don't know what you mean!'"

Amanda Bynes' recent moved back to New York after dropping out of FIDM and claiming she was trying to attend either NYU or Columbia to pursue a career in psychology. However, it looks like those dreams are on hold as her antics in the city, such as scratching a fan at a bar, and walking around barefoot and talking to herself in Bloomingdales, sparked concern for her health.

RadarOnline reports that she is now back in Los Angeles after having checked herself into a mental health facility in Pasadena.

Her family is by her side supporting her, even after the starlet made untrue claims that her father had been abusive to her.

Our thoughts go out to Amanda and her family as she goes through recovery.
