With the fall season upon us, it seems that everyone goes gaga over the flavor of pumpkin –– pumpkin cookies, pumpkin pie and, of course, pumpkin spice lattes! But apparently not everyone is thrilled with the craze. Former Daily Show correspondent turned HBO Last Week Tonight host John Oliver delivered a hilarious segment during last night's episode (Sunday, Oct. 12), slamming the hell out of everyone's favorite fall-time drink: the pumpkin spice latte.

Yes, it's true. Apparently Oliver is not too thrilled with the nation's captivation over all things-pumpkin, saying specifically, "It's the middle of October, which across the nation means that we are all looking at this [a pumpkin] and thinking, 'I don't know why but I simply have to drink that!'"

Calling pumpkin spice lattes "the coffee that tastes like a candle," Oliver's bash continues to comically discuss the oh, so ubiquitous nature of pumpkin-love, citing that on average, each American takes in over five pounds of pumpkin per year, according to The Washington Post. For the record, it's more than the amount of pumpkin in five pumpkin pies.

Watch Oliver's pumpkin spice rant below:

So, does anyone agree that the country's fascination with pumpkin is a little overboard? And, as much as most may disagree, we have to approve of the comedian's criticism that pumpkin pie is ONLY good from the moment Thanksgiving dinner ends to the second after you've completed that first bite.

Sorry, grandma. You're a fine baker... but we just don't care for your pumpkin pie!
