Heidi Montag is taking up fishing? Yup, the former star of The Hills just tried her hand at being a spokesperson for the New Zealand fish company Sealord's. Lauren Conrad's former bestie starred in a commercial for the brand's freezer fish fillets, and surprising the ad isn't horrible. However, her time as a fish model might be short lived as the company has allegedly pulled the commercial after receiving some backlash from its customers.

The ad, which takes place at a party, features Montag going around asking the guests what they think of the fish fillets.

While the New Zealanders might have liked the fish, they didn't care for Montag endorsing it, and it looks like the company took notice.

After receiving backlash from the community, Sealord decided to pull the commercial and rework it so that Heidi wouldn't be featured in it.

"We heard you NZ!" the company posted on Facebook. "You told us that you loved our REAL fish but not Heidi Montag. So, we listened and changed our TV Ad to star only REAL people."

According to Stuff.co.nz some of the Facebook comments were not so nice regarding the star.

One user wrote, "Wow, privately thought that but didn't complain. Guess the general public had a similar opinion."

The new ad aired in New Zealand over the weekend and so far it hasn't received as much criticism as the one featuring Montag.

While Heidi might have lost out on this TV opportunity, fans don't need to worry because she'll soon be back on TV in a new reality series. As we previously reported she is going to be starring in the new WE TV show Marriage Boot Camp Reality Stars next year, alongside Real Housewives of New York star Aviva Drescher and her husband Reid.
