Brazil and Mexico soccer teams played hard and long for gold at the London Olympics on Saturday August 11, and Mexico took the victory.  Mexico beat Brazil 2-0.  The game was streamed live on NBC's website with a cable subscription.

Mexico soccer player Oribe Peralta scored just 29 seconds into the final game.  It is considered the fastest Olympic goal since records were kept by FIFA frm 1976.

Brazil is a strong team and they've won the World Cup give-time.  The Olympic gold medal is the medal they were shooting for to add to their impressive resume.

It was Mexico's first time to make it to the Olympic final and Mexico is proud of getting the coveted gold medal.  Even without their key forward Giovani dos Santos who injured is knee, the Mexico soccer team beat Brazil.

Mexico soccer teammates celebrated jumping up and down.  The Brazil team sat in disappoint.

Though Brazil lost this time, their strong reputation in soccer is not diminished.  Brazilian soccer payer Fabinho still holds the title for the fastest goal in ALL competitions, scoring a goal in nine seconds in 2007's Under-17 World Cup.

Cheers to Mexico, and don't lose hope Brazil!
