Christian Bale is the latest Hollywood star rumored to be taking on the leading role in an upcoming Steve Jobs biopic. The movie lost director David Fincher earlier this year due to some negotiation issues and even had Leonardo DiCaprio poised to take on the role until he too bowed out. Now with new director Danny Boyle taking charge, it looks like the former Batman Begins star could be portraying the Apple tech genius in the near future.

As of now, this casting speculation is just a rumor, so we'll have to wait for an official confirmation from Bale or the studio, Sony.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film is based on Walter Isaacson's book and adapted by Aaron Sorkin.

Bale was allegedly in talks with Fox for the new James Mangold adaptation of John D. MacDonald's novel The Deep Blue Good-by. Unfortunately, Fox wanted Bale to sign on for multiple films for sequels starring as Travis McGee, which Bale wasn't too excited about. These talks about the Jobs movie with Sony, however, don't involve a multiple film contract. Bale allegedly likes this.

Either way, according to THR, Bale would film the Jobs movie before working with Mangold, so it looks like he's still very much in-demand these days!
