It's the scariest hour of the week and we couldn't be more excited to bring you the latest recap for American Horror Story: Freak Show. The episode titled "Massacres and Matinees" picked up right were last weeks left off. We were introduced to a few new characters, as well as got to see a new talent from the two-headed twins.

So without further ado, lower the blinds, lock the doors, and turn off the lights while we give you the spookiest recap you'll read all week.

The episode starts with some of the Jupiter, Florida detectives lurking around the carnival grounds searching for their missing comrade. They come up empty handed, but promise they will be back soon, as they have suspicions that the freaks are the ones responsible for the deaths that have been plaguing the town. They're only right about the carnies being behind the detective's death.

In the wake of all the tragedy it looks like the town of Jupiter has shut its doors, and for good reason, as Twisty the killer clown is on the loose. The clown even makes his way into the happiest place on Earth, a toy store, to kill two people.

The freaks, scared that the detectives will show up again, dig up the other cop's body to burn it and get rid of the evidence. The only evidence not able to burn is the former cop's badge.

Viewers get more backstory on Dandy and his mother (Frances Conroy).  Not only are we treated to this, but Patti LaBelle makes her first appearance in the series, as the wealthy families maid. Fans who watched last week's episode get to see the backstory as to why Dandy's mom brought home Twisty for her son to play with.

Dandy was born with a silver spoon in his mouth but it seems that all he wants to do is become a thespian. He even goes to the freak show to audition for a role, something that Jimmy quickly turns him down from, trying to make him see that he is not a freak like the rest of them.

However, it may seem like Dandy is even worse than any of the freaks, as he is turning into a monster and skinning and killing animals just because he is bored. Patti's character alters Dandy's mother to this, saying that she found the remains of a dead cat in their shed. When he is turned away from joining the circus he comes home to find that his mother has surprised him with Twisty.

We also get an introduction to Angela Bassett's character of Desiree, the three-breasted woman, and her husband, strongman Del Toledo, as they make there way down to Elsa Mars freak show. Not only does Bassett's character have three breasts, but she also has "all her lady parts and a ding-a-ling," as she so eloquently states.

The husband and wife duo had to leave Chicago because Del killed a man who was sleeping with his wife. But it turns out that Desiree's not the only one that has had her flings, as viewers learn that Ethel Darling, the bearded lady, and Del Toledo were together back in the day and that he is the father of her son Jimmy.

We also get to see Bette and Dot make their singing debut during this episode. The freaks try to find a talent for the sisters and it turns out that Dot is a natural at singing, maybe even rivaling that of Elsa Mars. We can already tell that it's going to be a problem that the girls are going to upstage the ringleader.

It seems that Del Toledo is fighting Elsa's authority at every turn. He even roughs up the gang of freaks when they make a visit to the local diner to try to prove that they are just as normal as anyone else. Not such a welcome introduction.

The clown play date that Dandy's mother has set up for her son doesn't go so well, as Twisty ends up knocking Dandy out and leaving the mansion to make his way back to his headquarters, aka his bus, where he still has two captives locked away.

Dandy follows the clown the whole way and when one of the captives sees her opportunity to escape, he proves that he is a loyal assistant to the clown by bringing the girl right back to him.

The strongman tries to underestimate Elsa as he decides to put Bette and Dot as the top billing artist on his flyer. When they preform a cover of Fiona Apple song "Criminal", Elsa know that they are going to be bad for her, as she is trying to be the star of the circus. She sneaks into their room at night and tries to get the girls to turn on each other by convincing Bette, while Dot is sleeping, that she is the true star.

The detectives come back to search the ground for their fellow cop, and it looks like Elsa and Jimmy have come up with a plan to pin the whole thing on Del Toldeo, and get him out of the circus. However, it looks like the strongman was one step ahead of them as he gives the former detective's badge to one of the lesser known freaks, Meep who ends up taking the fault.

Meep is brought to jail, where he is beaten and killed and then returned to the freak show. The episode ends with Jimmy discovering the body.

Catch next week's all-new episode when it airs on FX on Wednesday at 10.
