Yes, NPH is moving onto the Oscars! It is pretty safe to say that everyone loves former How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris. He seems he can do just about anything –– sing, dance, act, host, etc. And after having hosted both the Tony and Emmy Awards, it's now being reported that the Gone Girl actor will host the 2015 Academy Awards. The Hollywood Reporter notes that the Academy's selection of Harris comes after last year's host, Ellen Degeneres, turned it down, as did former Seinfeld, current Veep star Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Of course, given his track record in the hosting world, Harris is a surefire win for the Oscars.

"We are thrilled to have Neil host the Oscars," said the ceremony's producers, Craig Zadan and Neil Meron. "We have known him his entire adult life, and we have watched him explode as a great performer in feature films, television and stage. To work with him on the Oscars is the perfect storm, all of his resources and talent coming together on a global stage."

It would appear safe to say that the actor is uber excited for his upcoming gig, considering a video he uploaded that displayed him crossing "Host the Oscars" off his bucket list, which you can check out below:

On the gig, Harris stated, "It is truly an honor and a thrill to be asked to host this year's Academy Awards. I grew up watching the Oscars and was always in such awe of some of the greats who hosted the show. To be asked to follow in the footsteps of Johnny Carson, Billy Crystal, Ellen Degeneres and, and everyone else who had the great fortune of hosting is a bucket list dream come true."
