The boxing world is set to explode, and it's got little to do with money. Carl Froch, Amir Khan, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr and Floyd Mayweather Jr. all have millions of dollars to spare, as proven with Floyd's recent trip to a L.A. strip club, but it seems for once their fights are about their opponents and the locations only. Floyd wants a Las Vegas MGM showdown with British boxer Amir Khan, while Chavez is being tempted in to fighting Carl Froch. Will these blockbuster bouts take place, and if not, will champions Froch and Mayweather simply accept that they'd rather face retirement than another meaningless fight?

Mayweather most certainly wants the money, but perhaps not as much as he used to. The champion visited an L.A. strip club and he threw thousands of dollars into the air. Money Mayweather dropped around $30K, but in past clubs he's believed to have thrown around $100K. It's safe to say money isn't the issue, but he's most certainly intent on making sure he gets the right blockbuster bout, and if not, he could walk away, keeping his legacy, and large bank account, all intact.

Amir's fellow British fighter, Froch, is trying to get his way too, threatening to retire if he can't get a Vegas showdown against Chavez. The British champion has insisted that he needs a fight to motivate him, and with him never fighting in Vegas, it seems this is the only thing that could possibly tempt him in to training once again.

Both Froch and Mayweather couldn't be any further from one another, but it seems right now that the pair are both well and truly in the same boat. Will the world champions get their dream fights, or will they walk away, taking the early retirement they've hinted they might pursue.
