If you've missed the shooting stars last night, you can still catch them tonight August 13, 2012. The Perseid meteor shower is expected to start appearing from 10:00 p.m. or 11:00 p.m. The peak hours are in the darkest time of the night around 3:00 a.m. local time.
If that is too late for you, you can still catch a good view after midnight. There is no need for any special equipment to view the meteor shower. You can simply settle down in a place where the sky is dark and clear enough.
The live streaming is also available below provided by NASA if the weather permits.
This Perseid meteor shower occurs only one a year. The name comes from the appearance that the shower is coming out of the Perseus constellation.
Residents from all over the United States can join the show at their local times. This year is a better year considering that the frequency of stars per hour is higher at over one hundred meteors per hour, accruing to Bill Booke of NASA's Meteoroid Environment Office.
Vicisbility depends on several factors. Weather, pollution, time of the night, and location.
Don't miss out on it this year!
