The first 10-episode season of Steven Soderbergh's Cinemax series, The Knick, has come to a close, with fans eager for the 2015 season 2 episodes that will also be helmed by the famed director. Clive Owen and the cast were simply amazing right up to the season finale, entitled "Crutchfield." What did you think of this concluding episode? What about the entire season? Here is our recap of episode 10 below. (SPOILERS to follow)

Since Algernon won't perform the abortion on Cornelia, killing their baby (as he puts it - no politics, please!), she has to find another way. The audience probably saw it coming, but it didn't make it any less enjoyable when Cleary pulled up in his stagecoach to take his boss to Sister Harriet for the procedure.

After going through with the abortion, a brief meeting with Edwards shows that this once loving relationship, one that we all loved watch come together, is pretty much over. Plus there's that whole wedding thing that she has to go through.

It looks like Dr. Zinberg is looking more and more like Thackery's nemesis. The Jewish doctor performs an operation at the Knick, impressing those that are usually impressed by John. A slow zoom on John watching Zinberg really made us feel the contempt and worry Owen's character felt.

Zinberg also suggests that there are three different types of blood. This stresses Thackery, putting into motion his agenda to find out the secret. He puts Algernon in charge of all surgeries and tells Bertie to spy on Zinberg, so he can focus on the blood.

Poor Eleanor is in the institution after we saw her taken away last week and part of her treatment, since it's 1900, is to have her teeth removed. As if that's not bad enough, her Doctor (John Hodgman) is a bit of a revolutionary himself in the world of mental issues. He suggests removing a whole bunch of other parts of Eleanor in order to deter the spreading of her "disease." Of course, Gallinger starts to break down from his life falling apart, attacking Edwards and even yelling at John. Are we allowed to feel bad for him or is he still too evil for that? If anything, he's slowly been humanized throughout the first season.

Barrow's situation with Collier isn't getting any better. He reaches out to Thackery, asking him to get Wu to kill the gangster. Ignoring John's warnings about Wu, Barrow goes to him himself, requesting the Chinese "Devil" kill Collier.

"We will be first, and we will be first without him," Thackery yells at Bertie when the young doctor brings him Zinberg's message of collaboration. His paranoia is getting the best of him, but he truly believes he's onto something.

He performs a blood transfusion on a young patient with his own blood, ending in tragedy. Thackery was wrong, sending him into a downward spiral. Bertie sees his mentor's true nature as a drug addict, causing him to break character a bit and show some real anger. It's Bertie's father who ends up coming to help, who is all too happy to see his son see Thackery in this condition.

In conclusion, Cornelia gets married and Algernon gets beaten up. Wu kills Collier and his goons (which was super cool), but he knows that it wasn't for Thackery, so now Barrow is in his debt. Our closing scene shows Thackery in rehab, who is being treated for his cocaine addiction with heroin. This show is perfect.

With the Knick apparently moving uptown and Thackery going into rehab, season two is definitely on all of our minds now and up until it premieres. What did you think of this episode and the first season? Let us know in the comments section below!
