We're just a week away before Constantine makes its official premiere on NBC. With audiences getting ready to meet actor Matt Ryan as John Constantine, will the series also introduce the DC Comics superhero team, Justice League Dark, in the upcoming first season?

Based on the Hellblazer title from Vertigo Comics, Constantine (Ryan) is an occult detective, ladies man, and con artist all put together. Though he wants to do some good in his life, the troubled anti-hero walks a fine line between sorcery and obsession. In his trademark fashion, Constantine steps out into the world wearing a white dress shirt, a faded trench coat, and carries a box full of cigarettes in his pocket.

In the DC Universe, Constantine belongs the the superhero group, Justice League Dark, which consists of supernatural members. The team made their first appearance when the New 52 released its first round of #1 installments. The Justice League Dark series is currently in issue #34, with its creative team of writer J.M. DeMatteis and artist Andres Guinaldo.

In an interview with Screenrant, the Man of Steel screenwriter, David S. Goyer, explains, "If the show takes off...even within the first 12 episodes we've introduced two or three characters from the broader DC universe that are not just exclusively from Hellblazer. Corrigan has been mentioned, but there's a couple of other characters we haven't talked about that will show up as well."

Corrigan happens to be The Spectre, a ghostly spirit who seeks vengeance for those who have been wronged. In the TV version, actor Emmett Scanlan will play as New Orleans homicide detective Jim Corrigan. But what about the other members of the team, such as Deadman and Swamp Thing?

If Constantine is a hit with viewers, Goyer adds, "If the show takes off and we get our back nine and come back a second season, we sort of have access to that whole corner of the occult universe. So, hopefully we'll be introducing those characters as is appropriate."

Constantine premieres October 24 on NBC. Readers, are you excited to see Justice League Dark make an appearance?
